Massage Aftercare

Follow these guidelines to enhance your recovery after your massage session.

Hydration

Drink at least 500 ml of water after your session. Continue to hydrate throughout the day - aim for approximately 30ml of water per kg of your body weight daily.

Physical Activity

Avoid heavy lifting or intense exercise for 24–48 hours.

Gentle stretching & light walking is fine.

Alcohol

Avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours after the massage. Alcohol can further dehydrate the body and counteract some of the massage benefits.

Rest & Recovery

Allow your body time to rest. You may feel more relaxed or even slightly fatigued - this is normal.

A warm bath or shower can help continue the relaxation process.

Listen to your body

Mild soreness and/or bruises can occur, especially if you had deep tissue/sports massage work - this is normal

You can apply an ice pack to any tender areas for 10-15 minutes if needed.

If you experience sharp or unusual pain, contact your GP or massage therapist

Tip

Regular massage can enhance overall wellbeing, improve circulation, and support muscle health. Book your next session to keep up with your body's needs.
